Hersbrucker originally stems from the Hersbruck district in Germany, but is nowadays primarily grown in Hallertau, where it has almost completely supplanted the classic variety Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Hersbrucker is a pronounced aroma hop variety, and certain crops have an extremely low alpha acid content. For the last decades, Hersbrucker has been the most widely grown aroma variety in Germany.
Typical alpha acid: 3 - 5 %.
Correct alpha value is printed on the label.
