Pinot gris

This is the name used in France for a grape that is know under several different names eg Pinot Grigio in Italy, Tokay in Alsace, Malvoisie in the Loire and Valais, Rulander and Grauburgunder in Germany.

Pinot grigio is related to pinot noir and gives mild and lightly perfumed white wines with more substance and colour than most other whites.
