Riesling is one of the most commonly used grapes for making white wine. Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and Rheingau in Germany are the classic cultivation districts for riesling, but the grape is also grown in many other places in Germany, in Alsace, on the border with France, and in several other countries around the world.

It produces everything from dry to sweet wines and has an elegance like no other grape. Riesling also gives one of the few wines that ages well during storage for long periods of time -- this mainly applies to sweet high-quality wines.
